Questions and Answers about who we are

Q: Who the hell even ARE you?

A: We’re just a small website trying to make our way through this big scary world.

We’re a group of like-minded yet very different people trying to address a lot of issues facing the UK and wider world, from a position of truth, science, common sense and basic human decency. There seems to be a lack of that these days.

We’ve come from different backgrounds, experiences, geographies and more.

Q: Why are you called The State Media, are you owned by the government?

A: No, we’re not. We’re called ‘The State’ because we want to take a look at the state of the world in which we live.

Think ‘look at the state of him over there‘, rather than ‘Chinese state media says…

Q: Who funds you? Probably the Christian Right or George Soros or someone I bet.

A: We’re not funded by anyone. We don’t really want to be. We need to be free from political constraints and bias as possible.

Having said that, we are pretty much all broke, and donations will help us to make more content and keep the website going. You can donate at ko-fi.com/thestatemedia if you’d like, but we’re not going to push anyone else’s political agenda, ever.

Q: Are you just a bunch of right wing/alt-right people?

A: Not at all. We’re all varying levels of left-wing, which we think is clear in our videos. However, we do want to remain apolitical on a lot of issues, but understand that this isn’t always possible.

Q: Why are you so transphobic/bigoted/etc?

A: We’re not. One of us identifies as a trans person.

We’ve called out trans rights ACTIVISTS, not trans people. There’s a difference. Calling out the behaviour of abusive and violent activists isn’t transphobic, unless you believe that being abusive and violent is somehow part and parcel of being a trans person. We don’t believe that to be true.

Q: Why won’t you tell us who you are?

A: Simple answer? We don’t have to. We don’t want to. We don’t need to.

The longer answer is that trans rights activists, who are particularly abusive and violent, as is demonstrated in our documentary, will try and doxx us, have us shut down, violently interfere in an attempt to stop us from talking, so why should we make it easy for them?

Those who know us, know us. Those who don’t, won’t.

Q: Aren’t you just in this to make money?

A: BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

If you think there’s money to be made from this, you’re dead wrong. Our YouTube channel isn’t monetised yet, and even if it becomes monetised we’re unable to monetise individual videos as we’ve used clips from ITV, Sky, the BBC and others. That means they get any advertising money rather than us.

We have ads on our website, just to pay for the maintenance and running costs. It doesn’t cover them, which means that we’re actually PAYING to put our content into the world, not making any money.

If we ever do make a profit from this venture, we’ll be putting it straight back into the website and using it to create more content.

Q: How can I get involved?

A: If you want to submit a piece for publication, donate to keep the lights on, tell us how wonderful we are or send us photos of your pets, you can do so at thestateofemail@gmail.com or ko-fi.com/thestatemedia.

If you want to criticise us, complain, try and take us down, moan, whinge or cry about something we’ve said, why not write it all down and post it to yourself.

Any death threats can be sent to us via our lawyers.
